Ray, given the way the world works, still, it's understandable and reasonable that both the USSR and USA were buying favour in Afghanistan and finally, both, reverted to outright murder to get their way.
The USA was successful, USSR unsuccessful. Money talks and the USSR didn't have as much money as the USA.
Right now, my money is paying for the USA Empire. I'm backing the USA because they seem a much better investment to suit my rule-the-world purposes than other options I can think of.
However, I'm being sneaky, because like Osama, I'm using the USA against themselves. The USA built the internet, Microsoft powered it. QUALCOMM is developing the wireless aspect around the world, now taking over China, India and Japan for example. 802.11g is coming up. Google is providing the memory function.
My ultimate plan is to build cyberspace into an entity to take over from the USA as Global ruling hegemonist. I don't even need to hide my plans. China saw my plan and has tried to control cyberspace, but they too are peeing in the ocean.
It and We the Sheople will rule the world via cyberspace. There's nothing the USA, its rulers, or China, Hu Jintao, or the UN, or terrorists or anyone can do anything about it. Not all the world. The wild world will continue to live its biological destiny. Much of humanity will go on their way, just as most of Africa lives a largely independent life from the New York-based USA/UN nexus.
