Thank you, David. I really enjoyed reading your response. It sorta put me there. However, several things impressed me as I read your account, one of which is perhaps a similarity to the Numero Uno oil nation Saudi Arabia.

Another thought that struck me was how Colombia has always bemoaned the fact it was not more like Venezuela. But that's a whole 'nother story. Anyway please do compare how Venezuela and Cuba match up. Most Latin and Southern American nations seem right down there with Venezuela--this after 50 years of what's liberally been described as "development" that Cuba, as mentioned earlier on this thread, was not a beneficiary of.

[NOTE: Do the Venezuela vs. America comparative. Also a Cuba vs. America comparative would also be interesting.]
