Jack:
you are hearing the same thing I have been hearing on the
LD nad long distance market. On another front I was talking to a guy
at work the other day who wants to get on the Internet bad and he is
trying to buy a Computer and ,of course, get the best price. He had
mentioned that Cyrix was the best thing price wise etc.Without me
not even mentioning AMD He said he wouldnt get anything with AMD and I asked him why because I had heard that in many cases that AMD had the
better benchmarks. He stated that he had heard that also but the guys
in the stores etc had stated that AMD was of poor quality. Since he
has not had much experience on the Tech side then it is obvious that
he is getting this info from the stores.

This means one of two things or both.
1. The salespeople have either been brainwashed or are afraid of
Intel.
2.Intel has been very effective in their advertising campaign and the
"Intel inside" logo much like getting IBM to exclusively license
Microsoft.

This corresponds to waht many have stated on this echo regarding the
fact that AMD needs to advertise.
