Tunica - Good post. It's nice to see new folks on the board! I like to specialize in bombed out tech stocks for the same reason you jumped in: There's limited downside risk. As for Y2K problems, I think the problem is considerable in the government sector and not very bad in the public sector. In any case, it makes for good news. I think the Y2K problem is being promoted by the companies specializing in fixing the problems and the media. The interesting fact is that many very large companies have already been Y2K compliant for a number of years. How about banks.. When does your mortgage expire? Insurance companies... When does your life policy expire? The list goes on and on. I do a lot of work in the industry and I just don't see the magnitude of the problems that's reported by the press. Some companies have serious problems (ie. VISA) but most do not. I see internet commerce and big database development as big moving forces over the next few years. This is creating a huge need for scalable servers like SGI's new Origin 2000 which has no peers at this point. Regards Jeff
