1xevdo and Standard confusion....

Q's HDR is the high data rate technology that was integrated with 1xrtt technologies to give birth to to 1xevdo.

And no doubt, data-only applications are quite natural. As the wizened data rox noted in a PM, Monet now offers data only services using 1xevdo.

But fundamental to the 3GPP2 standard for 1xevdo are specifications for the integration of 1xrtt voice channel(s) for voice+data services.

Perhaps data-only should be called simply evdo.
