I came the closest of anyone on SI to saying that his sex life was impeachable. It was on the same basis that I would say a CEO could be fired for opening the company to the threat of litigation, by hitting on a young intern in his office, particularly when it was discovered that she mainly serviced him. I also thought that he showed a recklessness that was censurable, insofar as he carried on in the Oval Office, did business on the phone while being serviced, and initiated the affair just as the Jones suit was coming up in court. But the main issue was always his attempt to defraud the court in the Paula Jones case. Besides, impeachment is not "drawing and quartering". (He was, in fact, impeached). And neither is removal, which he avoided.
To me, the clincher was his willingness to destroy Monica, and create hardship for Betty Currie and others, to save his own ass. His is a bad man....... |
