patron, yes but some of the stocks I hold have now set up new support areas, that will be hard to crack. It appears the action here is in no man's land - either the HUI plows up another notch, or starts drifting sideways to maybe down.

I can't see how Bush's speech/plan is going to set the dollar on fire. If I were laying money on the line, I'd bet the opposite. It amazes me how some conservatives applaud Bush, yet are heavily invested in gold. Seems a little contradictory to me. I try not to get too connected to politics, just observe and try to relate that to market possibilities.

I watched CNBC meet the press last evening. Mostly a conservative bunch imo. Novak and Broder were not too impressed with Bush's appetite. I respect both of these news analysts. Two key comments:

Broder - I can't see how he (Bush) is going to do all these things, when support mechanisms are basically being reduced. A program wherein we spread ourselves out all over the world, taking on responsibilities, does not have a good chance for success.

(I believe it was he who also stated that Sharon wants Hussein toppled and this is a primary reason we are doing it, and that we should not let Israel dictate our ME policy - I wasn't aware of this.)

Novak - My read is that this country is not prepared for war, nor does it have the stomach for it.

(Not direct quotes but close.)
