The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California has authorized Chapter 7 Trustee Duke Salisbury to pay up to a 50% Finder's Fee to any individual who provides him with material information leading to the recovery of property belonging to California residents Sherman and Michelle Mazur.
In December, 1993, Sherman Mazur pled guilty and was convicted by the United States District Court for the Central District of California of: (1) conspiracy; (2) concealing assets and false statements in bankruptcy; and (3) filing false tax returns.
Subsequently, Duke Salisbury was appointed the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee for the respective estates of Sherman and Michelle Mazur. One of the obligations of a Trustee in Bankruptcy is to recover the Mazurs' property for the benefit of the bankruptcy estates and the respective estate's creditors.
On September 13, 1996, the Bankruptcy Court entered an Order, now final, permitting the Trustee to pay a substantial Finder's Fee ? up to 50% of the net amount recovered ? to those who can identify or locate property belonging to Sherman or Michelle Mazur, provided, of course, that such property subsequently is recovered for the benefit of the estates. Imagine providing a tip leading the Trustee to a net recovery of $100,000: you will earn up to $50,000 for your tip provided the Trustee subsequently recovers the funds.
