I know that. Never suggested you didn't. I do pay attention to what people with whom I'm discussing things post. I realize that for many that's an alien concept. <g>

And the point I made about exemptions and late term abortions was that my understanding, superficial though it may be, is that virtually all late term abortions have some complex, horrific circumstances likely to justify an exemption. Normal women don't wait until a fetus is viable to decide that they just don't want to be pregnant. Which makes concern about late term abortions much ado about something that happens much too rarely, the objectionable ones, to be worth all the to-do, from a practical perspective. (I've just returned from three weeks in Tucson and I'm feeling much too mellow--and pooped--to look up where I said that.) At which point you started holding your nose and regarding me as pond scum for no good reason that I can see.

Our disagreement on a practical level is all but non-existant. The only differences I can see is that 1) you insist a fetus is a person just like you and me where I consider it an entity of lesser standing and 2) that you are inclined to use the strong arm of government to force change where I would let attitudes and customs evolve on a cultural, moral level. I don't see why you are so inclined lately to focus on peripheral points of disagreement between us rather than on the salient agreement.
