One can give consideration to a fetus without believing that it is a person or demanding that the law treat it as a person with the rights of citizenship. There are other ways for the law to deal with it.

One can, of course, pass a law making abortion illegal in the third trimester. But what is the legal justification for that? IMO, you have to justify laws, you can't just pass them because you like them. Clearly it is an infringement on the woman's right to choose what to do with a group of cells growing in her own body. You have previously said that you don't consider it a person until birth. Fine. But then what IS it, and what gives it the right to exist if the mother wants to stop carrying it?
