PeopleSoft Delivers Enterprise Learning Management to Improve Organizational Performance

Monday January 6, 6:00 am ET

New HCM Solution Integrates Learning into Critical Business Processes

PLEASANTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2003--PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT - News) announced the general availability of PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) 8.8. The new solution enables organizations to move the learning management process online, allowing them to cost efficiently deliver and promote learning to their workforce, customers, suppliers, and partners. Part of PeopleSoft's industry-leading Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, ELM integrates learning into critical business processes to ensure that the workforce is better informed, customer relationships are improved and learning opportunities are automatically identified.

"To align training and development initiatives with operational goals, companies need to be able to analyze information residing in many different systems," said Michael Brennan, program manager of Corporate Learning and Performance Research, IDC Research. "This growing need for integrated systems will put PeopleSoft's Enterprise Learning Solution in a strong position."

The ELM solution is pre-integrated with PeopleSoft HRMS and can be integrated with legacy or third-party systems, allowing organizations to leverage existing HR information. The solution reduces learning costs and improves workforce productivity by deploying learning to the right people, at the right time. Organizations can now anticipate learning needs within and beyond the enterprise, and recommend the appropriate learning. For example, as competency gaps are identified during the performance review process, the learning system can be triggered to automatically recommend relevant learning to individuals that will help close competency gaps.

"Organizations with multiple, disconnected learning systems are unable to manage or measure the results of the learning they are providing," said Doug Merritt, vice president and general manager, PeopleSoft HCM. "PeopleSoft understands that the ability to deliver and monitor learning across the enterprise is critical to the success of an organization. PeopleSoft ELM is a practical solution that makes individual learning a matter of enterprise-wide performance."

The PeopleSoft HCM 8.8 Enterprise Learning Management solution is available immediately.
