Hi Bob,
I agree with Neo on the numbers and general recessionary data, but probably disagree with both of them about the effect of *any* administration on the economy. God only knows I'm no economist and there are plenty of people here far better better informed on the details, but it's clear to me that the data that contribute economic numbers are complex and that those numbers tend to lag behind in time. I also think there are "meta" trends on the economic picture, similar to the sine wave pattern that the stock market has, and that some administrations reap the benefit of that.
All that said, while I don't always agree with American Spirit's positions, I give her credit for the research she does and for sticking with it despite being hit from numerous posters at any given time. It's not easy to be open about being a Democrat, a liberal, etc. on SI these days, particularly one who hasn't resorted to namecalling and putdowns (Ray is an example here).
Those who are willing to post on the GWB about politics and can restrain themselves from epithets earn my ear. I listen to people like Neo, goldworldnet, American Spirit, and JXM more than to those who make post after post attacking a speaker.
All JMHO, as always. |
