A lawyer will argue whatever side of a case he wishes to or is paid to argue. I have no interest in playing the dueling lawyer game.

I thought it was pretty clear that "panel of officers" is NOT a tribunal. Not clear at all to me. A military tribunal is a panel of officers.

Aren't you assuming a lot of stuff here? How do you know prisoners do not identify themselves or don't cooperate?

Thirty seconds on Google will give you several hits on the BBC and the New York Times which confirm this.

In any case, Alistair, you are missing the point that NO SUCH TRIBUNAL WAS ESTABLISHED. Not even from among "a panel of officers"

I don't know this and neither do you. Just because it was not made public does not mean it didn't happen.

In any case I'm through with this. We have established our respective views and are not about to change. The final word can be yours.
