just the idea ... a stimulus plan, means the economy is in very DEEP doodoo going forward. I know the US gave up on free markets many years ago, but ... the "economy" is now some mysterious force of its own that none of can understand except idiots indoctrinated with how to fine-tune market "failures" for the betterment of everyone ...

pity the fool that gets elected in 2004 -- he will be a one-termer as well. If you think about it -- what are they trying to stimulate??

Capital spending?
Consumer spending?
Financial speculation?
What?

It's an admission of the failure of monetary policy ...

How bout a return to free markets and less government intervention?

Nazdaq will be 600 in 2004, IF they don't jigger the components -- even if they do, it may be lower. After a while all this carp fails.

I hope Bushie succeds in cutting more taxes, but he won't cut spending -- No president ever really does that -- look at all the fracas over this LIHEAP. Why can't my energy bill be subsidized -- I could spend the money elsewhere ...
