"the budget is so bloated and overfed, the "next question".. where? it is almost a hopeless task..." no - I don't believe that nor is changing the tax code [flat makes so much sense I can't believe it doesn't fly] how many government employees do we have currently? a HUGE work pool to do exactly that, figure out how to shrink, trim the budget if they can't be directed to reduce spending, departments, budgets - carve down, cut out, they have no business being there p'rhaps they all need to be reminded, work for us, they are there to serve us, "We the people of the United States"
