From Schaeffer's Research:

Oracle (ORCL: sentiment, chart, options) succeeded in catching the eye of some options traders on Monday. Open interest at the security's February 12.50 call soared from 8,662 to 13,326 contracts overnight. This leaves the equity's SOIR at a reading of 0.22, which is lower than all but two percent of those taken during the past 12 months. However, the stock has deep out-of-the-money call open interest that's serving to drag this reading lower. ORCL's sinking short interest provides yet another example of this growing optimism. The number of ORCL shares sold short has plunged 31 percent since August to 39.3 million shares. All of these positions can be covered in less than a day of trading at the stock's average daily trading volume. Wall Street's hopes for the security have begun to dwindle, as 20 of the 36 analysts following the equity rate it a "hold," according to Zacks. Potential options-related resistance resides overhead at the 12.50 strike. This is the site of peak front-month call open interest with more than 47,300 contracts. The stock has recently climbed higher again after pulling back to support at its 10-week trendline. ORCL leapt higher off this trendline at the start of the New Year.
