On the contrary. North Korea has a huge army, but they won't stand a chance against South Korea and the U.S. Remember, they won't have China to bail them out this time.

This reeks of insanity. For its part, South Korea is doing all it can to make sure the US rhetoric does not get out of hand, short of calling Bush reckless, though they have hinted it.

Everything points to their strategy being ultra-stupid.

Your view is too cocky. NK is showing the world that it is possible to counter US hostility with a show of strength. That lesson may not be lost of Iran.
