Agreed.

However, good players know they have to make the offer when the advantage gained is small enough that there is some chance it will be acepted. Otherwise the gammon or backgammon is still worth only one point. And once the cube is in the hands of one player all they can wait out the rolls and see if the game turns - as it often does.
