Indeed, though it was not clear to me that this was being accomplished outside of the industrial sequencing arena -- ABI being the poster child here, as it has blamed its slowdown in its reagents business to customers getting more efficient with the use of said reagents. Supposedly microfluidics and arrays are going to accomplish this someday. Also have read that disposal costs are a significant percentage of costs associated with reagents.
