This was Tim's thread so it is here that I want to write a short remembrance of him.

Tim Luke was the first SI personality that I bookmarked and followed in and out of many stock trades. IT was on the Ascend thread that I first encountered him. He gave me lots of "tips" including Lucent's buyout of Ascend ( my average price was 23 and I sold at 80 .........boy were those the good ole days),and several other tips..............all before he started his own trading room which I quickly joined.

I had several conversations with TIm and he always encouraged me to stay away from penny stocks though some on SI claim he was a penny pumper. He privately told me that you could make good money in pennies if you are smart enough to get out before the dump. However, he stated that the majority of people would lose money and the risk wasn't worth the reward in penny trading. He advised me to stay out of pennies.

Even though I participated in many of TIm's organized trades and was a member of the Crazy Train ( even back when we had that funky room where we all had to decode his messages), there is one story about Tim that sticks in my mind and remains symbolic of the kind of heart he possessed.

TIm had flown himself to NYC in an attempt to help in the rescue and recovery effort at the
WTC ruins after the 9/11 disaster. At the end of one long, hard day he returned to the barricade. After spending hours of combing over steel covered in body parts and various other bloody debris, he came up to the security gate and noticed a small boy standing there with a picture. The boy saw TIm and ran up to him while showing him the picture. THe child asked him, " This is my father, have you seen him?"

TIm said he went into a serious depression after that encounter.

TIm was so broken up he couldn't go back and help at the WTC site. He seemed to think he had failed but we all knew he had lost his own father only a few months beforehand and the emotional strain was just too much for most anyone.

Tim had a big mouth ( even over the internet wires he could be heard yelling), a big head ( yeah we all have to admit this ) but he had an even bigger heart............!

Godspeed and RIP..............TIm you did affect my life in a positive manner.....thanks.

What happened at the end is between TIm and his God.
