I called customer service and asked them about their new improved fees. They won't go into effect until Feb with the first charge applied the first of April (end of first quarter). The gal tried to tell me that they are worth the $8/month for all their services. I told her I guess I have until April to find another broker. Yes, they do charge $50 if you pull your account out and transfer it.
I doubt if customer pressure will have any effect on them. I would guess that in a couple of years (or less) they will either go under or absorbed by another broker.
