Has anyone considered Nortel bonds instead of the stock? With all the debt hanging over Nortel, it seems to me that the bonds are a better investment than the common stock, at least for the next several months. For example, if one buys the bond issue with a 6-1/8% coupon maturing in 2006, the cost is about 70 percent of face value, and the yield is about 20% a year to maturity. Can one expect better performance than that on the common stock?
