On not taxing dividends -
This is either immaterial OR a scheme to transfer money to wealthy from corporations who should keep it and re-invest. Think about this - Gate/Ellison own more than 200 mil shares of their companies. Any decent dividend would be a windfall for these guys. Do you think they can do this in good conscience? I don't know about Larry Ellison; but I am confident that Gates won't declare dividend willy nilly. Also, these dividends are paltry. Only retirement funds might be interested in these stocks because of dividends. BUT, they probably already own these. I don't think this will matter. It is a foolish idea.

On the other hand, this could be a devious scheme that Charles Schwab got into bush's head. He owns 230mil shares in SCH which pays out 4 cents/yr. That will get him 1mil/year!
