>Those were police actions you speak of<

A 'police action' is simply war by another name. The Korean War was also once referred to as a police action I believe. Ask the civilians who were in the bombed out TV station in Belgrade what the difference between being killed in a war and a police action is.

Your comment about no wars during the Clinton era was clearly wrong and no splitting of hairs will make it right. Our international interventions dramatically increased after the end of the Cold War. And yes, the draw down of forces and cutting of defense budgets did start in 1990 before Clinton if that means anything. I was not the one who claimed Clinton cut military spending in half. I don't know what the numbers are. I do know that he freely committed our forces to numerous hot spots around the world in the 90's, failed to replace spent munitions, and burned out highly trained aircrews and special operations forces.

I don't really buy your 'thanks' for my services line. It is obvious to me that 95% of the American people think nothing about the sacrifices that people serving in the military make. The 5% who do care certainly don't include liberals and defenders of slick Willie. We hated Clinton when I was in the service in the nineties. Military men and women don't like to be led by a draft dodging, double-talking whore-monger. He sent us everywhere, cared not a bit about it, and we did our duty with no respect for him other than for the official office he held. The man told his draft board or ROTC Colonel in a written letter that he 'despised the military' when he reneged on his duty commitment. He got a deferment for his Rhodes scholarship and then used his weasel words to avoid service. I remember clearly how all this was picked over during the 1992 Presidential election.

Americans are forgiving people when they vote and that is fine. They put Clinton in office twice (with less than 50% of the vote each time). They didn't care about Dubya's DUI either. But to argue that Clinton didn't cut back on bases, infrastructure, etc... during the 90's is crazy. We had 18 Army divisions in 1992. We had 10 when Bush came in in 2000. Do the math.

>Real warriors take many years to train<

Armchair experts like you know nothing about real warriors. Stop talking about it. I was an Army Captain, a Special Forces Officer, and a Ranger Course Graduate. You speak of things you know nothing about. Just because you've watched a movie about the military or read an article in the NY Times adds zero to your actual knowledge of these matters.
