At least Gore's decisions not to run in 2004 gives Democrats the option to explore other possibilities.

To review a simple analysis I once made. Gore would be President if any one of these factors had been different.

1) Clinton's marital indiscretions.
2) Reno sending Elian back to Cuba.
3) Gore losing his home state of Tennessee.

It goes without saying Gore was unhappy about Clinton's personal behavior. Gore also disapproved of the Reno decision for which he probably also has Bill to thank. Losing Tennessee falls squarely on Gore's shoulders. Quite simply, Gore shouldn't have been gone from home so long.

The Democrat party is in total disarray. Its chances of winning the Presidency in 2004 are virtually nil, but Democrats can be assured that my fellow Republicans will not be complacent about this.

Time to turn off the box and God Bless America.
