They ought to get princely sums. The old Roman warriors shared in the rewards of their conquests. We can't and don't do that in these days, but we could give them just compensation for their risk and success.

Put it this way: Compare how much Larry Ellison or Steve Case put their necks on the line for their country, to the risks embraced daily by any of our troops.

It's time for some recognition of those who are truly willing to pay the price of freedom, imho.
