Kastel, The Economist has a long track record of absolutely blitheringly stupid predictions. They seem to never quite get it. The one I remember from 1994, when I had a subscription, was an editorial opinion that it was "now safe to enter the peso zone", just about one month to the day before Mexico devalued the currency. Oops.
