one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter

That used to be the case before 9/11. Notice the past tense. Now, nobody supports "freedom fighters".

Especially in Turkey's case, this change in perception was very clear - support from Europe diminished overnight, and with their leader in captivity on some island, PKK is reduced to a group of bandits.

Many call this [PKK] a people's liberation organization involving freedom fighters in a noble struggle against a ruthlessly oppressive and illegitimate authority [Turkey].

Granted that Turkey has been oppressive with its Kurdish minority, what on earth are you talking about when you say Turkey is "illegitimate authority" on South-Eastern Turkey?

I have seen intelligence reports in the alternative press

What "alternative press", and where are the links?

And rights to some of the oil in the Mosul fields, of course

Turkey could even take Musul (and Kerkuk), if Iraq gets divided in some way, with an autonomous Kurdish state/country. Musul & Kerkuk used to be part of Turkey, not so long ago, if I recall correctly.
