It is estimated that North Korea has completed the nuclear fuel cycle from acquisition to reprocessing of nuclear fuel and is on the threshold of a nuclear weapons capability. Nevertheless, it is unclear whether it has actually produced or possesses nuclear weapons due to difficulties in developing detonation devices and delivery vehicles, which require high-tech and precision technologies.

Yesterday I was trying to explain to Ray that Powell had used ambiguous language exactly because of this uncertainty. Of course I was pounced on by the thread neocons. I was also trying to make the point that, given the history of NK relations, the policy of "talk loudly and carry no stick" was stupid and careless, as evidenced by the current state of affairs.

Please make sure O Wise One aka D. Ray sees those links. Frankly, I am sick of hearing him run on and on how Clinton screwed things up when it comes to NK. Tell him I wanted to share.......kind of like getting a visit from beyond the grave. <g>

The problem with these neocons as you call them, they think good foreign policy is carrying a big stick and whacking it at something periodically. Apparently, that policy is beginning to back fire. What's nice is Bush looks to be getting in over his head slowly but surely.

Latest poll up here indicates over 76% of the people do not believe Bush has provided compelling evidence to go to war against Iraq and 68% think we should go to war only if the UN inspectors find WMD.
