This is probably a bad time to recall that MOT (and NOK) very literally promised EDGEfantasy handsets to US carriers - in commercial quantities - delivered in 2002... as part of the big TDMA to GSM retrofit pact... do AWE and Cingular sleep easy?

The new (to use a well abused euphemism) - deadline - is at some vague, magical moment in the second half of 2003.

And, as amusing history, the first time EDGE handsets were "here" was in 2000.

What a funny little game.

I wonder... does failure grow... tiring?
