Clinton and Bush both loathsome IMHO, Clinton, Greenspan and Rubin helped foster the biggest bubble in history and a severe reaction was inevitable no matter who won the 2000 election. And the sheep got shorn as always happens in such episodes.

Bush is using the crisis to further pamper the richest Americans and play a reverse Santa Clause at a time when many millions of Americans are hurting badly because of smashed 401ks, heavy unemployment, soaring medical expenses, etc. And I say this as someone who stands to benefit from Bush's tax proposals.
