There's a stock market package called Metastock which has a market system testing feature in it. It has pre-canned systems and you can design your own.
One of the pre-canned ones is the "MAXIMUM PROFIT SYSTEM".
It starts at the beginning of your price data, figures out what moves would work best, then does them. Basically, it knows every prioce squiggle in advance and uses that knowledge to trade. (Of course, it can only do this on past history.)
I just applied it to INTC starting in 1998. The gain was 2384532288307200%.
Or, to put it differently, if you had started with $1000 in 1998, you would now have $23,845,322,883,072,000. About $24 quadrillion. Or $24,000 trillion. More than the entire US is worth, I'm sure.
