Well, the SOX did okay for a few days there as well, and that surely could not have been because of a dividend effect.

I for one don't give a rat about dividends. Nor do I give a rat about ST versus LT cap gains. Yah I'll take the LT ones if the come about, but I screwed myself on that one once too often to pay any attention to it, at least during the current state of market affairs.

Many more downward adjustments to come.

If this market goes as I anticipate it will be projecting a deep recession, probably world wide, that will arrive slowly and be in full force later this year.
