The introduction of Viagra will only help ViVus long term. In our Clinic every time a new ED treatment becomes available an influx of new and old patients happens.Eighteen months ago it was estimated that 5 % of those effected where seeking treatment. The new estimate is 7.5 to 10 %. As of today the new treatments are inversely proportional in effacicy to patient preference. So when Viagra comes out it will double or tripple the amount seeking treatment (and therefore the market size ) and because of its ineffective results broaden the market for ViVus and Up John and genericks (PGE). To many people are missing the key issue in the ED market. Its not how many men have ED its how many do something about it. IMHO when VIagra or Vasomax hits the market it will have a short term effect on ViVus (less then 6 months ) sales. After that Sales will continue to climb.
