The dividend plan is a huge scam and bearish for stocks. The government is currently operating in deficit. Any proposed tax break is only adding to the current deficit. The wealthiest people in this country are those whose net worth is tied up in millions of shares of common stock [Gates Dell Ellison Redstone etc]. This plan allows these billionaires to cash out their shares tax free. The plan gets political cover by offering crumbs to the masses while allowing the wealthiest to pocket extra millions while the deficit grows for the next generation. No wonder the market sold off 10 minutes after the proposal was announced.
