There's another unsupported statement, how exactly is it "nothing useful"? It IS a useful way to think about language if you want to examine language in a removed way. IMO, of course. Why is it useful to examine language in the abstract? Because, imo, it helps clarify thoughts about language. If you can think of anything to say that is anything other than derogatory "labeling" I would be interested in what you have to say. I find simple unsupported statements as boring as I suspect you find them. Of course I could be wrong, maybe you don't find them boring. But I do.
