Something about the MBG warning yesterday struck me as peculiar....I thought I remember these guys saying specifically that the New Year's Eve period would be extremely strong (which countered my own personal observation from my trip there from 12/20-12/26...Vegas and specifically Mandalay Bay was DEAD). Digging a little deeper, I found this nugget:

Mandalay Resort Group (NYSE:MBG - News), which owns the pyramidal Luxor casino and the Mandalay Bay, said last week its Jan. 1-4, 2003 period would be "quite solid, even good." The company also said that its fourth quarter results would be better than expected by Wall Street

...and people wonder why corporate CEO's are less trusted than snake oil salesmen these days!<NFG> The only remaining question is how much MBG stock these slimebuckets sold between December 15th and yesterday. They absolutely HAD to know that bookings sucked, at a minimum.
