Eighth AbioCor artificial heart implanted -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By Gideon Gil ggil@courier-journal.com The Courier-Journal Nine months since the last implant, University of Louisville surgeons put the eighth AbioCor artificial heart into an ill patient yesterday at Jewish Hospital. The patient, who was not identified by Jewish Hospital at the request of the patient's family, was "in critical but stable condition," the hospital said in a press release today.
