True point. Far more oil money flows to 'terrorists' than 'drug money'... and immensely more if you only consider the particular terrorists who are targeting the US now (middle-eastern groups), and not the ones primarily involved in their own domestic civil wars. Also, it's the old 'bait and switch' technique to simply raise the flag of 'drug money terrorism' and then send the storm troopers to arrest American AIDS patients growing American marijuana... none of which 'finances terrorism'. In any event, remove the profit incentive from illegal drug production (which is an artifact of drug prohibition) and you remove most of the ability to generate out-sized sums of money... and the potential to divert that money into whatever shady pursuit (offshore bank accounts, bribed officials, etc.) Another example: much of al Qaeda's money has been converted into 'conflict diamonds' now, which are easy to smuggle and utilize. Are they now going to run ads claiming that wedding rings "support terrorism"? Some of this ridiculous propaganda would make George Orwell barf... and Stalin burst with pride.
