There is always the possibility of cheating, although most people, I think, are pretty honest. There are also "natural disasters", like recessions, that require a certain degree of social insurance to aid stability and recovery. Capitalism provides the means to calm down the rough- and- tumble. You are right enough, I suppose, that it is hard to keep up with innovations that might require regulation or prove fraudulent. On the other hand, the market can tolerate a degree of chicanery, as long as it does not lose confidence in the vast majority of transactions........
