I didn't say anything about trickle down. My point is that the economy does not respond meaningfully in an immediate manner to any stimulus, good or bad. Its like when you take an aspirin for a headache. Your headache doesn't go away the moment you put the aspirin in your mouth, it takes a little while to get absorbed into your system. Same as when you eat a bad bit of meat, you usually don't feel the food poisoning for a few hours.

And where the events of 9/11 certainly hastened selling in the stockmarket and affected parts of the economy, I believe that it prolonged the bear market or made it worse in anyway. I do think that the efforts to save the market and economy as a result of 9/11 *did* cause more damage and prolong the bear market. But that is a different conversation.
