Nice subject, Jorj, however I think it's better suited for a different thread. But to conclue what I meant by "trickle-down," essentially Bush's tax project is aimed most at helping rich folk in the belief this'll somehow trickle down to poor folk. I think history proves different.

The key is getting consumers to spend. Clinton, I think, did pretty good at that and that's in part why he did so well. But I temper this remark by the fact that the dawn of new technology certainly aided the process.

Botton line is for lots of reasons people have lost faith, both in their belief that government will protect them and that those who are controlling the markets are on the up and up and can be trusted. Thus, confidence somehow needs be restored.

Bush's plan that feeds the rich folk via better tax breaks ain't gonna help 'cause the trickle down will take too long and the policy will only feed into the fears described above.

Enough on the subject--back to the war.
