The thing that irritates me is the notion that his grammatical and pronunciation gaffes are somehow indicative of his intellect or capability. Lots of brilliant people are unable to articulate with perfection. Some of the brightest people I've known are in this category. Would we castigate Stephen Hawking for his inability to communicate verbally? I should hope not.

Recently, I saw Bush again in front of reporters. I can't tell you what's wrong with him but there something wrong. He behaved like a person either on drugs or having some kind of mental/memory problem. How he spoke was someone trying to remember sound bites of past commentaries, and as a result spoke in sound bites to the reporters. It seemed very odd and contrived.

He didn't seem nervous.....more confused or addled. It may be possible he is in the early stages of Alzheimer's which would be most unfortunate. A friend of mine's mother is in the early stages and its pretty scary stuff.

Frankly, I don't know what it is but there definitely seems to be something wrong with him. If its not a matter of intelligence, then something else is going on IMO. I am being very serious.....this is not intended as a put down.
