Black Hawk urges government action against dissidents

2003-01-09 15:50 PT - News Release

Mr. Garth MacRae reports

In Black Hawk's news in Stockwatch dated Nov. 20, 2002, it announced that the strike action of the union leaders and some employees at its Limon mine in Nicaragua had been declared illegal by the Ministry of Labour. The employees who participated in the strike and refused to return to work were dismissed in accordance with Nicaragua law. As of Nov. 19, 2002, the picket lines were removed, eligible employees returned to work and operations resumed, except for a brief work stoppage later in November. Production for December, 2002, was 3,400 ounces of gold, which was 71 per cent of the company's original budget.
