  PHILADELPHIA, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Technitrol Inc. (NYSE:TNL), a maker of electrical components for computers and communications equipment, on Thursday said it bought Italy's Eldor High Tech Wire, a supplier of transformers for European television manufacturers, for about $84 million plus costs. "We currently expect Eldor to add between 18 cents and 20 cents per diluted share to Technitrol's net earnings in 2003 and to contribute positive economic profit for the year as well," Technitrol said in a release.
  Orsenigo, Italy-based Eldor has operations in Istanbul and Izmir, Turkey, and it will form the nucleus of a new consumer division at Pulse, Technitrol's passive magnetic components business. |
