K, I suppose I should concede that some local manufacturing plants are busy.
There is enough work to keep people employed in these hourly wage jobs.
The bigger problem facing us now
And the trend over the past few years
Is that we have no pricing power.
So while we are working more
Our profit margins are shrinking.

I know for a fact the second largest manufacturing corporation in town here has had all employees on a wage freeze for the last two years.
It's not pretty
And we can't expect those people to forgo fair wage increases for too much longer.
But than again
If no one is really hiring
And all you have to your credit is a H.S degree,
A job is a job is a job.
