It's meaningless to talk of Ellison's payday if the company were privately held, since he couldn't have gotten it in that case. And as I've said many times, I disagree that stockholders' equity is a meaningful measure of the value of this company.

Three days ago you had no idea what shareholder's equity was nor where to find it on the balance sheet. Perhaps you need more than three days time to understand what shareholder's equity represents before making your pronouncements as to what is meaningless and what is meaningful?

You can use a stock price chart to measure Larry Ellison's performance if you want, but this won't tell you one darn thing about the risks your invested capital is facing. You might want to understand some things about the business peformance of the company to evaluate that.
