The top 1% get off easy on taxes unless they're big entertainers or sports figures who cannot tax plan. They have all kinds of loopholes and perks the middleclass cannot take advantage of. The US has the lowest taxes for the rich in the western world. They do not need our help. They come here from all over the world because we have lower taxes, even during CLinton's era. Right now it's the millions out of work who need help not those with mansions and huge trust funds. I dont get the GOP obsession with helping the very wealthy. Many of them dont even want help. Also, trickle-down does not work. That has been proven. What does work is when the middleclass is employed, confident and willing to spend. Then the rich get richer the right way. And there is more opportunity for all. There is very little upward mobiloity in a richer-rich poorer-poor depressed middleclass economy. This Bush tax plan has many with no axe to grind against him very concerned. It is a budget-busting 75% gift to the rich. The Kerry agrees with 25% of the Bush plan but stimulates consumers immediately, helps states and homeland security, gets rid of marriage penalty and does not add debt because it pays for itself by eliminating the Bush tax cuts with the richest estates in the country. When our country is deeply in debt we need the help of the rich. They got rich off our system. And with all the loopholes, trusts and insurance they can still keep their taxes and estate taxes to a minimum. Bush's tax plan also hurts charities. Will be less incentive to give now. And it hurts muni bonds markets and the dividend tax cuts do little for average consumers while rewarding rich retirees and those with conservative stock portfolios, or lots of Phillip Morris. SO a giveaway to the few,. And notice the market went down the first two days after the Bush tax cut news. In other words, this will not stimulate the markets much either.
