Like I said, prove it. I don't have access to the last few years of the NY Times. If you do, perhaps you could find it.

But I think it is interesting that this is all you've got. One story which, while certainly provable or disprovable, neither you nor I will be willing to take the time. You made the allegation, I'd say the burden's on you.
