<So personal income doesn't mean anything in China!> The number you posted does not mean anything. Taking an average of the income of hundreds of millions of people tells you zip about the spending power of specific market segments. There are poor people in China -- hundreds of millions of them. And there are people who are accumulating significant wealth -- tens of millions of them today and many more millions in the future. The size and wealth of the middle and upper classes is growing at a rapid pace. There are millions of university-trained engineers. There are millions of people who own a private business. These segments are large and growing fast and comprise both a market and a labor force that keep China growing at 3 or 4 times as fast as the US economy -- you are ignorant of the facts. The Chinese economy is the engine of the world at this point in time.
